An original production background and cel overlay from the Filmation Studios animated series, "The Batman/ Superman Hour" (1968-1969). Featuring a scientific observatory on a single island, and a cel overlay with tropical greenery, the hand-painted overlay and background was created at the studio and used during the animation process. The piece is an actual frame of animation that was photographed and appears in the episode entitled, "Rain of Iron" which aired on October 5, 1968). However, the cel overlay and background are not from the same scene. Measuring 10.5"x46" overall, with the image itself measuring 9.75"x46", the cel overlay and background are in very good condition with minor surface and edge wear.
