A production cel from the Disney Studios animated film "Sleeping Beauty" (1959). Featuring the two Kings, Hubert and Stefan, squabbling over the future of their children, the vibrant hand-painted cel was created at the studio and used during the animation process. The piece is an actual frame of animation that was photographed and appears in the cartoon. Remarkably the cel appears to be untrimmed, exhibiting the lengthy layout utilized to take advantage of the film's Super Technirama 70 presentation. Disney Legend Milt Kahl was responsible for designing both characters and expertly integrated them into Eyvind Earle's stunning backgrounds, all while keeping each King unique visually. Measuring 12.5"x30 overall, with the character image measuring 8"x12.5", the cel is in fine condition and is paired with a reproduction color copy background for display purposes.
